Fighting his way Mike tried to break the surface but he just didn’t have the power in him. Urging to free himself from the tremendous force that was pulling him in Mike took one last glimpse of the human world around him. Desperately trying to break the surface Mike noticed he could breathe, there was some kind of bubble over his head allowing him to absorb oxygen from the water. Wow, he couldn’t believe it. Many hours Mike swam but still couldn’t for the life of him find anything, he started wondering if there was even some sort of life down there. Soon he got worried, as he swiftly swam he saw something rather large, but he couldn’t make it out. Swimming as quickly as his feet could go Mike found an underwater city of mermaids. Cautiously sneaking around Mike hid incase he wasn’t welcome, I mean imagine if there was an alien in your town sneaking around! His task was to find the palace and query if it was them who had sucked him under. Soon later Mike found the amazing Palace of the mermaids. Mermaids obviously were craft masters because their palace was a huge beautiful hall made of turquoise crystal. It was a large building with two horns coming from the roof pointing to the head of a statue of their loved King. Entering the castle Mike noticed a very large speaking underwater bulldog “Umm, could I speak with your majesty please? “Of course down the aisle and on the first to the left.
Mike entered the room with caution. With their majesty he had a long conversation and came to realise it was her who had dragged him here, but he wondered why him? Scientists of their land had studied his surfing for years and she thought he would be a fine fine warrior for their land. Giving him all he wanted but Mike settled down but still didn’t trust them, could they be planning something? Queen Gival sent a message a couple of weeks later from a very lovely Poodle messenger. It said.
Dear Mike,
We have received a message from the shark kingdom warning us that they are preparing an attack. We ask you please fight for our kingdom, we need you!
Thinking about it for a long long time, he realised if the mermaids are powerful enough to suck him underwater with magic powers who knows what else they are capable of. Coming to his majesty Mike explained he is simply a surfer, he has no skill in combat and quite frankly he promised his parents as a young boy that he would never go to war, not even if he had to for his life. Mike’s Grandad went to war and his best friend was taken by the nazi’s and he was shot and betrayed since then no one from Mike’s family has gone to war.
Queen Gival was disgusted by this, she kicked Mike out and he was never seen in the mermaid city again. Lost Mike was, he had no food and really nothing to live for. Knowing you can’t break the surface of water is a bad feeling. This could only be stopped by destroying Queen Gival.
Mike swam trying to find the shark kingdom in hope of their help but he could not find it for the life of him. Days later Mike found a small cave to shelter in with a pocket air to sit on which means he could have cooked fish.
One day a rumble came and roared filling Mike’s cave with echo and shudder Mike swam out to find a shark looking at him with a pleading expression on his face. He asked mike to help the shark kingdom he had the power of the mermaid queen and they needed it to defeat them once and for all. Mike agreed with pleasure all he wanted to do was rip her face of.
He was geared up and prepared for battle. He didn’t care about his family's tradition he was betrayed.
Mike warned the sharks that their king had powers beyond anything he had horns capable of shooting beams of poison that will pollute your lungs and make them shrink down to the size of a pea. For sharks their lungs are more important than any other part of their body. Days later the battle commenced the ocean was stained red and many lives were lost, the last two remaining, mike and Snoff King of mermaids they were both angry there queens had been killed by the two of them but on would seek revenge they circled each other for what seemed like years just waiting for one or the other to make a life threatening move.
Mike had fought bravely but his opponent had out weaponed him, all he had to do was shoot his gun and Mike was dead. However Mike was not stupid he had studied this location his whole time in the shark realm and he had dug a little trap door with a spike at the bottom at a secret location in the arena. Mike had almost lured the king in, he had pretended to fall over in hope the King would come in for the kill and was right the King came in for the kill and fell foolishly into the deep dark hole and was split in two. For grandad Mike said proudly thinking of the all the stories grandad told him before he went to war. Now all the mermaids were spiritless Mike had the freedom to break the surface. Wait Mike realised with the mermaids gone, he couldn’t breathe he swam as vigorously as arms would swipe and legs would punt and just made the surface in time. Arggh! He just loved that smell of fresh air. People came up to him and carried him to shore he had been sunk under water for days. Mike rode home on his bike and made himself some buttered toast, mmmmm, delicious! There was just one thing Mike didn’t understand, if they had dogs as their slaves, wouldn’t there be a base on land! Mike became an adventurer in search of the mermaids land base. Days later he came to his granddads house for a boat his grandad took him fishing in as a kid. This was the boat he would use to travel to the secret land base of the mermaids. Will Mike find out about the truth, find out in the next exciting story, Granddads Revenge!!!
